Traditional Bar Stools - A Modern Take
Traditional bar stools have always had the connotation of a hard, square, wooden seat set on four wooden legs... but Atlantic Shopping are striving to break the mould with a range of fashionable new bar stools released this last week. Still utilising the traditional materials of wood and leather, these updated designs are ideal for revitalising any dated kitchen or bar space with their signature style. Drift Oak Bar Stool Though the Mechu Bar Stool is a wooden four-legged stool, this fantastic fixed height design is far from dull. With a compact, boxed style frame fashioned from wood, its beautiful black satin finish picks out the grain beautifully. It has an architectural, almost Bauhaus feel, with the seat surface curving gracefully round the edges. A footrest bracing bar connects all four of the legs, resulting in a strong and sturdy piece of furniture with a chic minimalist style. (December 2014 - Please note, the Mechu has now been discontinued. We would recommend the Charlotte if you're looking for satin black painted wood). The new collection also includes a range of padded stools, with comfortable cushioning for that luxury touch. First up is the Empire, which is available in two contrasting combinations, each as different yet as striking as the other. A light beech frame comes with timeless black faux leather upholstery on the seat cushion and backrest, or you can opt for a dark walnut frame with cream faux leather. Mechu Empire Regency Next up is the Regency Stool, arguably even more striking than the previous two thanks to its effortlessly eye-catching design. Whilst the frame may seem simple it has excellent impact, with upright front legs set against arching rear legs, and a wide rectangular backrest for support. High Backed Bar Stools for Summer
Summer is here - the perfect time for a spot of remodelling and renovation. So why not kit out your kitchen diner or breakfast bar with one of our trendy high back bar stools, adding a splash of style whilst giving your back that much-needed support. The Rochelle Brushed Steel Bar Stool is the first of this week's new arrivals, a suave and ergonomic design built on the same frame as the popular Eames wire chair. A unique design that cossets the body, its curved shape and supportive backrest make for a highly comfortable seat. Comfort is increased by dense foam padding covered in soft faux leather upholstery, stitched into a quilted style that adds to the luxury upmarket feel and helps to make the Rochelle stand out in any environment. Rochelle Brushed Steel Stool Another high quality addition to our ever expanding range is the Serenity Bar Stool, available in black, brown or cream real leather for an unmistakable luxury touch. A heavy square base is designed to keep the centre of gravity low, with a cast iron weight ensuring superb stability. The high backed seat has a striking profile, with a cascade footrest for superb visual balance. (Please note - the Serenity has since been discontinued.) Next up is the Viola Stool Chair. Its ABS resin seat is moulded from a single piece, with sinuous curving armrests that really catch the eye, adding a fashionable focal point to any kitchen or dining room. The gloss black or gloss white finish will catch the light beautifully, the sleek reflections picking out the shape of the seat, whilst the padded cushion and backrest allow you to sink in and relax. Not only can the Viola be used at dining chair height, but can also be raised to a low stool height of around 61cm, courtesy of the gas lift mechanism housed in the durable, chrome plated frame. (Please note - the Viola has now been discontinued. We would recommend the Clementine instead.) Serenity Viola Deco This week also sees the introduction of the Deco Chair, a practical yet stylish item fit for any contemporary kitchen or dining room. Ideal for use with modern dining tables or even at a desk or vanity table, the minimalist Deco comes in a black and cream satin finish resin seat, and stands on a chrome plated steel frame. (Please note: these have now been discontinued.) The four fashionably formed legs hug the flowing shape of the thick acrylic, which is styled for comfort with a curved backrest, dipped seat and rounded front lip. The chrome plating is notoriously hardwearing, as is the resin construction of the seat, resistant to scratches and very easy to wipe clean should anything be spilled on it. And on top of all that, the Deco is also fully stackable, making it all the easier when you need to clean the floor, or even when used as occasional seating, stowed away when not needed.
New Colourful Acrylic Bar Stools
Coming to you direct from Atlantic Shopping this week are several new acrylic bar stools, contemporary designs that will bring a modern touch to any location. The first for your perusal is the Hilo Bar Stool, a striking combination of style and substance. The ergonomically formed seat has a tall backrest for quality comfort, with fashionable detailing in the form of two rows of cut-out circles. As with many of our stools, the Hilo rotates 360 degrees and has adjustable height, but it also has one further trick up its sleeve: a roller base with nylon casters much like an office chair. This adds to the dynamics of the Hilo, increasing the possible locations and situations you can use it in. Stardust Shimmer Odyssey The second of our acrylic designs is the Carnaby Bar Stool, which has a curved, undulating seat with an oval opening in the high backrest. Not only does this add a touch of visual detail, but it also makes it all easier to rotate the seat for ergonomic access. Both the Hilo and Carnaby are available in a range of bright and beautiful colours, from blue to pink, enable you to mix and match for a funky look that will bring a vibrant energy to any room. The third of our new acrylic stools is the Zig Zag. Its stylish smoked finish works well with the chrome-plated frame beneath, where the central column rises through the seat making this an undeniably eye-catching design. Hilo Carnaby Zig Zag As well as the arrival of the acrylic stools, we also have the fabulous Vendome Mayfair Bar Stool. This is a timeless Thonet style design, a take on the classic A18 bentwood dining chair, but at elevated height. The Vendome is crafted from wood using methods and equipment that have been unchanged since 1875, giving it a real historic feel. A beautifully constructed item of furniture, the skills of the craftsmen are evident and you can see the familial resemblance to some of our other stools such as the St Louis, Moatparausse and Rivoli. Available in cream, grey, red, purple or lime green, the Vendome has ample character for anything from the traditional, rustic kitchen to a retro inspired breakfast bar decorated with Pop art. Interesting New Bar Stools
This week sees some exciting new additions to our ever-growing range of bar stools. We have three fabulous new fixed frame stools, the first of which is the Lola Z stool, a classic 'Z' shape design with a padded faux leather cushion and semicircular footrest. Light and easy to move around, the Lola Z is perfect for smaller rooms and even as occasional seating.The second of our fixed height stools is the Mezzas, with its slender tubular steel frame plated in chic chrome. The width of the base ensures that the Mezzas is very stable, whilst the white faux leather padded seat, complete with tall backrest, ensures high levels of comfort.Last but not least is the Elektra Bar Stool, a classic American diner style design with four legs and a round frame supporting a circular padded cushion and backrest. (Please note - the Lola Z, Mezzas and Elektra bar stools have since been discontinued. View our collection of fixed height bar stools to find something similar.) Lola Z Mezzas Elektra The new Kite Bar Stool also has four legs, but comes with a gas lift mechanism for adjustable height and 360 degree swivel. The Kite offers a wonderful alternative to round base stools but loses none of their functionality, making this a very desirable item that ticks all the boxes.We also have the Inca which has a two-piece seat covered in black faux leather. The square shape of the tall backrest and cushion is mirrored in its heavy base, which promises high levels of stability. A rectangular footrest finishes off the design, making the Inca a striking addition to any kitchen or breakfast bar. (Please note - the Kite and Inca bar stools are no longer available. We would recommend browsing our range of faux leather bar stools for another effortlessly modern model.) We also have a new low stool perfect for the living room, lounge area, or even a bedroom. Funky and stylish, the Raid Stool Chair is single piece construction with a cylindrical body covered in black faux leather and a wide, curving backrest. (Please note - the Raid has since been discontinued. Find a similar design in our chic collection of low stools.) Our two final stools are the Lilt and the Lillie. Moulded from ABS resin, these ergonomically designed stools have squared seats with a trendylow lip that runs round the rear and both sides. Built on the same frame and with similar seats, the Lilt comes in solid black, red or lime green finishes whilst the Lillie has a trendy two-tone seat. Available in the same three body colours as the Lilt, the Lillie has a gloss white seating area, creating a sublime contrast that's sure to catch the eye. Raid Lilt Lillie As well as these stools, this week sees the launch of the Totem High Table. At an impressive 109cm the Totem is the tallest table we currently offer, topping even our range of poseur bar tables. The clear glass square top is kept at this height by the box section stem, which ends in a heavy square base for stability. The recurrence of the squared theme gives this table a sleek minimalist look and feel, making it perfect for any environment, from the modern and contemporary through to the more traditionally decorated. Fixed Height Brushed Steel Bar Stools
Atlantic Shopping is introducing a brand new range of show-stopping, fixed height, brushed stainless steel bar stools, exquisitely made and hand-finished for that upmarket and quality feel. These fixed height bar stools are at the perfect height for your breakfast bar counter, making them welcome additions to any home.There are a multitude of designs within this range, from traditional looking box-framed stools such as the Kanto, to the Encore, which has a footrest mounted on a central stem like the majority of modern kitchen stools. (December 2014 - Please note, the Kanto and the Encore have now been discontinued and replaced by Vision.) All of these items exhibit high quality finishing and are brilliantly manufactured for solidity. Many have heavy flat bases, keeping the centre of gravity low to give excellent stability. This week has seen the launch of Atlantic Shopping's brand new review system, giving you a first hand view of what our customers think about our bar stools. Below the item description and recommended alternatives you'll find the customer reviews tab, where you can read what people who have previously brought the product have to say about it.Besides a body of text where customers can express their views and experiences about the stools and our service, we even have a comfort rating for those who wish to find out about how relaxing our products are, giving a much better indication than pictures can sometimes convey. Launch of Purple Bar Stools
This week sees the launch of purple bar stools to our colour selector in the refined search. Now you can simply click on the purple square icon, and it will search our vast database, pulling up all of our trendy violet stools for you. A regal and luxurious colour with an extravagant flair, it's often associated with royalty and nobility, and hence delivers a truly opulent look. Nevertheless, modern décor is increasingly using pop colours for added brightness and highlights, and hence purple is rapidly being used more and more. Made by mixing red and blue, it’s the darkest of the pop colours on the scene at present. To present you with a full and varied assortment of the different styles and types of purple stools on offer, we have showcased a few of our favourites below. These three classic gas-lift models demonstrate some beautiful purple shades encasing thickly padded seats that offer a range of features from tall supportive backrests to curved padded armrests. New Styles of Bar Stools
This week has seen the launch of two fabulous new products at the opposing end of the spectrum to each other, a possible case of the yin and yang.First up is the Shadow, a stylish new addition to our range of backless bar stools. A trendy piece of furniture, the Shadow is a contemporary design kin to our popular Jupiter Bar Stool. With a similarly shaped seat but featuring a wider rear lip, it provides a greater seating area for added comfort. This does not, however, compromise its modern design or make the Shadow seem visually larger. A cool compact design, it's still an effective addition to interiors where space is somewhat limited. Also available in white, it's chic look makes it ideal for the minimalist interior. (May 4th 2014 - Please note, the Shadow Bar Stool is no longer available.) (February 2019 - Please note, the Jupiter is no longer available, we recommend the Zars Bar Stool Black as an alternative.) At the other end of the scale is the trendy Westfield Bar Stool, a brand new member of our ever growing collection of high-backed stools and a design that is solidly built. An accommodating seat cushion is covered with soft faux leather above inches of high density foam padding, and has a towering backrest - currently the tallest available on our stools - at the rear. This backrest is also generously padded, making the Westfield exquisitely comfortable. What's more, the circular footrest, welded to the stem, and the wide base add to the feel of solidity and comfort. (4th May 2014 - Unfortunately the Westfield is no longer available. New Products: Unique Bar Stool Designs Released
Atlantic Shopping are gearing up for the new year with a series of new releases, with four unique designs making their debut. First off is the Trinity Bar Stool, a stylish model available in six colours, from sleek black and minimalist white to zesty orange and lime green. The Trinity brings all the advantages of a chair - having a tall backrest and accommodating seating area - and marries it to the adaptability of a bar stool thanks to 360 swivel and height adjustability. (November 2015 - Please note, the Trinity has now been discontinued, We recommend the Crescent Bar Stool - another trendy ABS design.) The Montana is the second of our releases, a funky faux leather bar stool with a single piece seat, flanked by a curved backrest that wraps around the rear, supporting your body for superb comfort. Aside from comfort, the Montana also cuts a cool contemporary design which will look superb in any modern home, a sleek and stylish accompaniment for any bar table. (July 2015 - Please note, the Montana has now been discontinued. We would recommend the Orlando Bar Stool as a trendy alternative.) The final two designs, both with a divine walnut finish, are the Chesterfield and the Contour bar stools. The Chesterfield has a circular padded cushion covered in faux leather, with a tall wooden backrest finished in walnut. A padded section on the backrest adds comfort and detail, giving a superb contrast against the walnut. Montana Chesterfield Contour The Contour has an elliptical seat and backrest in a rich walnut finish, with padded cushions on both covered in black faux crocodile skin. A first for Atlantic, the crocodile skin really sets it apart from the rest, lending added character and detail. It works superbly with the dark wood and sleek chrome, ensuring it boasts a unique look that will inject a touch of class to any establishment. New Range of Heavy Bar Stools
Atlantic Shopping has released a new range of mid-priced bar stools. These new stools expand the catalogue, bringing in more chic and lavish models, exquisitely built to a superb standard but all at fabulous Atlantic prices. We've long been in search of high quality mid-priced bar stools - and now we've now found them.Stools such as the Siena top the range weighing in at an impressive 22-24kg! This weight has never been seen before in this price bracket; with their solid steel square bases and soft faux leather seats, they're utterly unique with nothing on the market like them. Great Value For Money This range bridges the gap between our more reasonably priced designs and the top end Italian models seen on the market today, which we also stock in our designer bar stools collection. The Portobello is another new product being released. Upholstered in fashionable faux leather, it boasts a backrest height similar to that of a chair, with ample padding for maximum comfort. Its smaller brother, the Cushion Stool, has also arrived - the two making a perfect pairing. We often get asked for stools without backrests to match stools with them, for which these two are ideal.
