Graceful and dignified, their timeless designs bring a sense of occasion to the sparsest of settings, infusing their surroundings with the warm glow of nostalgia. Structurally simple and conventional in shape, the four legs and supportive mid to high backrest make them robust yet attractive. Highly adaptable and characteristically versatile, their enduring familiarity make them a solid, welcoming choice and a firm favourite with all ages. Crafted from traditional materials like wood, neutral leathers and natural shades of fabric, the Chicago is a classic example that's full of character. Many possess buttoned panelling or stitching in the backrest for a lavish quilted effect, whilst models such as the Carlo (pictured below) exhibit a stylish scroll top and elongated backrest, cutting a timeless silhouette. Carlo Oak Chair Cream Leather Elegant & Luxurious Chairs Delivering traditional charm with a real wow factor, luxury designs are perfect for creating a sense of opulence in your home. Plush crushed velvet and lavish fabric upholstery gives them a sumptuous appeal, with velvet shimmering softly as it catches the light. Many have a quilted button design in the backrest as well as a sprung and belted seat edged with ornate chrome studs, providing both quality comfort and exquisite decorative touches. Some models, like the Ascot (below) feature a chic chrome ring on the rear of the backrest for a stylish accent. Wooden dining chairs often display the grainy glamour of solid oak or a sleek oak finish, but many of our luxury designs boast a chic black satin finish, creating a truly sophisticated look. Perfect around the dining table for a grand aesthetic, or even alone as a stunning statement piece. Ascot Dining Chair Black Leather Modern Styles Inspired by the past but moving forward with the fashion, modern dining furniture recycles former trends by utilising the latest manufacturing processes and new materials available, to produce stunning fresh designs. Stunning Dining Chairs to Match Your Table
Advice

Stunning Dining Chairs to Match Your Table

It may be you already have a table and are after some chairs to match. Or perhaps you’re looking for both, but want more flexibility than a set offers. If putting together your own combination, we hope this handy article will help guide you in what to look for when pairing the two. Why is it important that they match? When done correctly, complementary furniture exudes a harmonious look that can enhance its surroundings and bring a room to life. Conversely, clashing styles or conflicting finishes can be distracting and off-putting. Complementary Style First and foremost, you should match your furniture to the overall look of the room as a whole. Once you’ve established the style, you should then choose a table and chairs with a corresponding appearance. For example, pair modern with modern, and traditional with traditional. The Sparta 90-135cm Extending Dining Table Grey and the Mustang Chair Grey are a great example of a successful match. Both exhibit trendy transitional style, their pairing of stylish grey tones with sleek black legs stylishly marries together with undeniable success. Conversely, the Eden 120cm Round Dining Table White paired with the Carlo Oak Chair Black Leather is an unsuccessful combination due to the dramatic difference in style. Whilst the oak wood and ornate shape of the Carlo displays a classical aesthetic, the Eden is a crisp, modern model with a light and airy vibe. Whilst both are stylish designs, they’re incompatible when placed together. Matching Frame Finish For a visually pleasing and unified look, we would also recommend you select the same material or finish across your furniture, as well as in your interior as a whole. For example, choose similar shades of wood; oak kitchen cabinets with oak chairs, and likewise walnut cupboards with a walnut table. The same is true with metallic surfaces; pair brushed steel appliances with brushed steel chair frames, and chrome kitchen fittings with chrome framed furniture. This is modelled by the Echo 100cm Chrome Dining Table Glass and Tempo Dining Chair Light Grey, a delightful duo that work well together due to their elegant polished chrome frames. With similar tubular legs, they enhance one another for a compatible and contemporary look. On the other hand, the different finishes of the Cleo 120-160cm Extending Oval Dining Table Oak and Chiltern Oak Dining Chair Beige mean when combined they will clash. The Chiltern's beige seat and oak finished legs combine into a traditional style, conflicting with the more modernised appearance of the lighter oak top and black satin frame finish of the Cleo, and hence they can look somewhat imbalanced when placed together. Similar Shape Corresponding shape is another factor to bear in mind when looking for a uniform and consistent looking interior. Round pedestal or central column tables will enhance tubular central column chairs, and vice versa conventional square or rectangular four-legged tables are ideal with four-legged chairs. A prime example is the Glacier Coffee Table and Clementine Chair White. Both are supported by smooth cylindrical single stems which, when paired together, produces a magnificently modern aesthetic. In contrast, whilst the Everest 120cm Round Dining Table Oak and the Ascot Dining Chair Black Leather both have four-legged frames, they will clash slightly due to their dissimilar forms. Not only does the Everest possess an oak coloured round top, but the four rounded legs are stylishly slimline which lend a lighter and more modern look. Conversely, the conventional four legs of the Ascot are more generous in width and give a visually heavier and more classic presence. Used together, they could create a rather asymmetrical appearance. Understand the basic principles? Stackable Dining Chairs
Advice

Stackable Dining Chairs

It’s highly likely this will bring back memories of the faded plastic seating of your school days. Yet there’s no doubt stackable dining chairs are much sought after and have majorly evolved over time, now bearing little resemblance to stuffy classroom furniture you might remember. Incredibly popular due to their trademark functionality, there are now a wealth of modern design options available with more colours, shapes and styles than ever before. No longer confined to the old-fashioned schoolroom or dusty church hall, they are widely used in homes, kitchens, commercial eateries and for large scale functions worldwide. Matchless Functionality Made popular by their practical and versatile nature, they’re ideal if you’re not sure how much seating you’ll need; for example if you have an expanding family, host frequent dinner parties or often find yourself with unexpected guests. Taking up minimal room when stacked, they’re a great compact storage option that will free up a wealth of space. There’s no doubt buying slightly more than required on a daily basis will pay off, as any extras can be easily stored away in a garage, spare room or cupboard under the stairs. Readily available, they can quickly be whipped out for special occasions and surprise visits. Furthermore, they pair brilliantly with extendable tables for a fully flexible seating arrangement. They are also ideal for use in commercial environments from casual cafes to formal restaurants. To maximise on space they can be neatly stored away in a cellar or backroom when not needed, then easily set out during peak times or when hosting larger parties. Allowing you to cater for a maximum number of customers will no doubt generate increased revenue. They are also much simpler to transport than regular dining chairs, as they can be neatly stacked in the back of a van. Perfect for special events and functions from weddings to exhibitions, they need to be transported from venue to venue. Robust Materials Due to their trademark durability, the seats are often made from hard materials such as ABS plastic and wood which are best suited to stackable products as they’re least likely to damage. Made by injection moulding, funky matte resin models are incredibly scratch resistant, whilst sleek painted wooden seats such as the Candy Chair (pictured below) deliver matchless solidity. With frames sculpted from mirrored chrome, solid wood or brushed steel, they provide sturdy bases with a casual, contemporary look. Marvellously modern, a spectrum of vibrant colours are made possible, from rosy red to lime green, which work brilliantly when used individually or mixed and matched. Characteristically low maintenance, their water repellent surfaces can be wiped clean, perfect for kitchen and dining areas with the presence of food and drink. Multi-purpose and highly adaptable, this also means that they can be used out of doors, great for sunny picnics, outdoor parties or simply relaxing in the garden. However, whilst all-plastic models can be left outside whatever the weather, metal or wooden framed designs will spoil if exposed to rain. Delivering optimum comfort alongside supreme practicality, models such as the Joshua are upholstered in faux leather and padded with foam for that luxury touch. However due to the soft nature of the foam, these can be more susceptible to denting if care is not taken when stacking them. Nevertheless this can be prevented by assembling them gently, or simply by putting a piece of cardboard, like an old cereal box, between each seat. Practical Designs It’s the expertly designed shape of these chairs that makes them stackable, with legs that slope slightly outwards allowing them to be slotted one on top of the other. Whilst robustly built to allow them to support the weight of multiple chairs, if piled irresponsibly high they may be liable to tip. For safe usage you should consult the recommended stacking height, which will be detailed in the paperwork included in the packaging. To ensure your products maintain their quality condition, small protective plugs are often concealed on the underside of the seat, as pictured. These prevent the surfaces from scraping against one another when stacked or transported. Similarly, protective plugs are included on the underside of the legs, to help minimise the chance of marking to flooring. Metal Dining Chairs
Advice

Metal Dining Chairs

If you’re looking to update your current dining furniture, we have an expansive collection of fantastic products for you to choose from. Distinguished by their ultra-modern look, metal dining chairs allow a vast array of styles and shapes that are not possible with other more traditional materials. With an enhanced range of trendy features they boast boundless benefits, delivering form as well as function. Signature Strength Renowned for their trademark toughness, metal frames are notably durable. Whatever finish is employed, their core strength makes them remarkably solid and hardwearing. Whilst they may show sticky fingerprints, their low maintenance surface means these can easily be wiped off with a cloth. Joints can be either welded or bolted, both of which are characteristically robust. Due to the harsher nature of metal, most designs have rubber protective floor plugs or felt pads that sit on the underside of the legs. Out of sight, these help to protect whatever surface they’re placed on by reducing the chance of scratches and marks. To keep damage to a minimum we suggest that when moving chairs around, you pick them up instead of dragging them. Chic Look Our renowned collection boasts two metallic frame types. With a glossy appearance that reflects its surroundings, mirrored chrome projects a futuristic sheen and polished luminosity, as the Shanghai demonstrates. Brushed steel is a beautiful matte alternative that has been hand-worked to produce its signature chic surface. More muted than lustrous chrome, it matches many modern kitchen appliances for a sleek uniform look. If you’re after something minimalistic, choose a mirrored chrome frame with sleek white plastic or a clear acrylic. Working in harmony together, these create a visually space saving aesthetic. Or for something a little different, check out the Joshua, its frame is completely upholstered in faux leather. "Fabulously versatile, metal framed dining chairs will compliment a broad spectrum of seat materials. For a designer look, why not opt for a chic black leather or faux leather with a brushed steel frame, both immensely fashionable materials that are constantly sought after by our clients." Striking Shapes Marvellously malleable, metal makes a variety of fantastic frame shapes possible. Central column designs deliver a host of stylish attributes that are not to be missed. Many include a state-of-the-art gas lift mechanism and 360 degree swivel, similar to that used in office chairs. Allowing you to easily alter the height and position to your individual needs, these offer optimum accessibility and are great for diners of varying heights, such as children, as seen in the Clementine. Conversely, you may wish to go for a fixed height model. Whilst somewhat simpler than their single stem counterparts, their vast array of eye-catching shapes make them by no means a second rate choice. Four-legged designs, whilst traditional in shape, can offer a cool contemporary look. Some have four separate legs bolted to the seat, whereas the legs on the Tempo (pictured below) are made up of just two pieces of metal which intersect beneath the seat to form a four-legged base. Tempo Dining Chair Grey For a striking silhouette, ultra-modern cantilever frames are a firm favourite, with minimalist designs like the Mica perfect for creating that cool, contemporary kitchen or dining space. Alternatively, the Bucket Chair boasts a square box frame for an exceedingly stable base. Instantly recognisable the DSR Eames range (pictured below) displays iconic metallic webbing for a eye-catching geometric flair. Metal legs are typically hollow, their lightweight nature meaning you can move the chairs around with relative ease. They also come in a variety of shapes ranging from cylindrical and tubular, as seen in the Faith, to square or rectangular. They can also gracefully taper to the floor for an elegant touch. Furthermore, whilst you may only see the frame of the legs, it is in fact present beneath the seat and backrest upholstery, giving the chair its signature shape. Whether you’re after a chic contemporary design or a funky retro model, our trendy dining chairs provide a broad spectrum of options. Benefits of Leather Dining Chairs
Advice

Benefits of Leather Dining Chairs

When it comes to interior design, there are many benefits of leather dining chairs. After centuries of furnishing homes with plain wooden furniture, leather has revitalised the interior industry, paving the way for a modern style of chair that’s proven immensely popular. There are three types available – real, faux and bonded – each with their own benefits and host of stylish attributes. This article will talk you through the advantages of each in turn, helping you to make the right purchase for you. Carlo Oak Chair Brown Leather Real Leather Want to make a statement? Choose from our range of genuine real leather dining chairs for a touch of class, their distinct aroma infusing your surroundings with that luxury, designer feel. Often purchased by those with a little more to spend, they deliver a lavish dining experience and premium look that will not disappoint. A natural material with its own set of exclusive features, real leather products have a beautifully unique look, as no two animal hides are exactly the same. Resilient to cracking, peeling or tearing, it’s a highly durable and practical material that’s known for aging well. Becoming softer and more attractive over time, any worn spots simply gain a sleek burnished look, enhancing their character. With pores like skin, it breathes and changes temperature with your body, characteristically warmer than sitting on ABS plastic or wooden finished products. Unlike fabric it does not hold dust, making it resistant to dust mites and fungal attack; a great dust free option for asthma and allergy sufferers. Sun, heat and fire resistant, it also makes for a safer choice than many other soft furnishings. Faux Leather Shopping on a budget? Our faux leather dining chairs are an inexpensive alternative that boast a smoother, more consistent feel for a more uniform look, at a fraction of the price. With an element of stretch, faux is less susceptible to puckering, perfect for rounder styles of chairs. A key feature is that it can be dyed to a rainbow of colours, catering to a broad spectrum of tastes and decors. Lighter shades such as cream, green and lilac induce a calm atmosphere, whereas bolder colours such as red, yellow and orange will pack a visual punch. Low maintenance, scratch and fade resistant, it’s a popular choice with families and business professionals alike. Its water repellent, stain resistant surface means it can easily be wiped clean should any spillages occur, perfect in busy kitchen and dining environments, especially with messy children and pets about. Made from a synthetic material, no animal products are used in production, a great alternative for vegetarians and religions opposed to real leather products. A prime example is the Mustang Chair Antique Brown, an eye-catching design that shows just what faux leather is capable of. Bonded Leather A halfway house between the two, bonded leather draws attributes from each. Made from leftover genuine leather pieces joined together with adhesive and covered in vinyl, it’s a recycled material and “green” choice that’s popular with many of our environmentally aware customers. With its trademark antiqued finish yet budget cost, it is highly sought after. Take a look at the Chicago Oak Dining Chair Cream, a classic design upholstered in sleek cream bonded leather that’s both modern and minimalist. Regardless of the style or size of your home, a leather dining chair is a dependable choice that is well worth investing in, whether you choose genuine, faux or bonded.
