FURNITURE STOOLS
Modern furniture stools are dynamic and adept items that fulfil a whole array of functions, adding practicality to any modern breakfast bar. They come in a variety of styles that match any period of decor, from the traditional, rustic kitchen to a sleek, futuristic metro bar.
Chrome and brushed steel are the usual frame finishes of choice for bar stools; iconic chrome with a polished, reflective mirror finish that contrasts with the contemporary subdued and lined surface of hand worked brushed steel. They can be found built on steel frames, of which there are Z style and box frames for the fixed height option, or the most popular range which have variable height for excellent utilitarianism. These employ a gas lift mechanism that can be raised or lowered as well as allowing 360 degree swivel, making access to any counter or bar table all the easier.
Aside from these options, there are also a whole host of striking wooden bar stools that give a natural touch to any environment, showcasing beautiful grain in oak and walnut as well as lacquered finishes. Wood gives a more tactile choice and is full of character, exuding a different feel to its metal counterparts and can usually be found as four legged designs perfect for all floor types from tile to carpet.
Breakfast bar stools have eye catching seat designs that add a focal point to any room, and most are padded for additional comfort. Luxurious faux leather and real leather upholstery covers high density foam padding, with ergonomic sections that cosset your body for exemplary support. High impact, gloss ABS and translucent acrylic Perspex resins are also used in seats to varying effect; ABS alluding to retro styles of the swinging sixties and seventies, whilst acrylic is light and airy, ideal for smaller locations.
Designer stools are diverse and are not only restricted to kitchen height counters and bar tables, which have a height of around 90cm. They come in several guises, and whilst domestic height stools have a seat height of around 65cm in order to provide ample room for your legs in such circumstances, you can also find commercial height stools, which are around 10cm taller. This makes them ideal for, as the name suggests, commercial height bars as well as poseur tables, which stand at approximately the 100cm mark.
Low stools make up the other end of the spectrum, being at around chair height of 50cm and thus the ideal counterpart for dining tables. They give all the comfort and stability of dining chairs but with the added practicalities of a hydraulic mechanism as well as deliberate, distinct modern designs associated with bar stools, breaking away from the traditional architecture of chairs.
Moving away from these dining areas, there are a number of roller stools which utilise nylon casters and spoked bases much like office chairs, working superbly at any desk or vanity table. They glide easily over all floors and make the furniture stools an even more desirable item.
