Description & Dimensions
A superb example of contemporary design, the stunning Shimmer translucent stool is a stylish item of furniture with a smoked translucent acrylic seat. The seat of the Shimmer is ergonomically designed and moulded for superb comfort, with the added help of a low lip that rises from the back of the sleek profile for extra support and security. The modern seat works well in any environment, but is best in new-age kitchens and breakfast bars, and even in a funky bedroom. The fresh feel of the Shimmer translucent stool is compounded by the slender chromed stem that the seat sits on, on which is a beautifully crafted footrest that increases the relaxing properties of the stool. Adding a dose of functionality to the mix is the adjustable height gas lift that, with the 360 degree swivel mechanism, is housed in the stem. The whole stool stands on a sturdy circular base which has a rubber ring beneath to help keep your floor free from any scuffs or scratches.

Great Product at fab price
Delighted with the stools, great company to deal with. First set of stools we sent for we returned as the colour was not suitable. The Company dealt very promptly with the retuen uplift and refund costs. Now more than happy with our second purchase

Stylish stool
I already have three acrylic chairs in the kitchen area in my apartment and this stool is a perfect match to keep the contemporary look.
The assembly was fairly easy except that I managed to put the seat on upside down so had to redo it.
I was extremely impressed with the delivery process and how I was kept informed as to when it was arriving- which it did as forecast.

Buy these- you won't regret it
I simply cannot fault this product or Atlantic's service.
These barstools look fantastic- sleek, modern, shiny. A doddle to put together (and I am an assembly numpty). As others have said, they do show fingermarks (something in this style is bound to), but are really simple to clean- no awkward nooks or crannies. At this price, I thought that maybe they would be a bit flimsy, possibly unstable, flaky chrome, iffy lift mech... ABSOLUTELY NOT. They're strong, comfortable, sturdy and stable (I left this review a couple of months, just to see how they'd work out).
There's no extra delivery charge to worry about, which is great. Once they'd arrived in stock (which took 2 or 3 weeks- presumably not Atlantic's fault), I got a phone call the next morning, and delivery the day after that.
Brilliant product, brilliant value, brilliant service- thank you so much!

Good value alternative to expensive designer stools
We'd seen a lovely and very comfortable bar stool by a well known French company but at over £300 it was well out of our price range. This one looks good, comes very close on quality and comfort and is a tenth of the price.
In other words great value !!
Assembly wasn't too difficult once I'd worked out that you need to use a pair of pliers to squeeze the split locking washers almost closed so it's easier to screw in the bolts for the seat.

I ordered 4 of the Shimmer Translucent Smoked stools the week before Christmas, based on good reviews and the fact that they looked very similar to the Ligne Roset stools I really wanted but couldn't afford! Delivery was brilliant, and once assembled the stools looked amazing, the gas lift/lower mechanism is great (although my 8 year old son isn't quite heavy enough to make the stool go down, yet). Assembly was the only tricky bit, I think made harder because of the slight curve on the seat, but hubby still managed it OK. The smoky colour is lovely, very subtle and looks great with my new french grey kitchen cupboards. Fingerprints do show up so you need to clean the perspex before assembly and a quick wipe with an ecloth every now and again is all that is required to keep them looking good. Altogether extremely happy, especially as I got all four stools for less than half the price of one of the designer stools! Can't go wrong methinks, would definitely recommend.
