Q. I wish to use my stools in the kitchen, with the intention of putting my legs under the work surface, what seat height stools should I be looking at?
A. The average kitchen work surface is 90cm from the floor to the underneath of the work surface. With that in mind we would advise you to look at all of our gas lift stools with the exception of the Deluxe Casino Bar Stool which is for higher bar areas. The beauty of the gas lift bar stools is that they are variable height allowing you to individually set the height of the stool to suite you and your kitchen. As a rough guide you would probably set the height of the seat to approx 65 -68cm.

Q. With bar stools - What is a "Gas Lift Hydraulic Mechanism" ?
A. It is a simple mechanism which is often used in office chairs to enable variable heights. To use it is very easy. You simply sit on the stool, pull the handle upwards, set the seat to the desired height and then release the handle. Your height is know set. It also has the added feature of being able to rotate 360 degrees.

Q. I have a newly tiled or wooden floor what is on the base of the bar stool ?

A. All bar stools we sell have a special "Protector Base" which is a protective 10 mm thick edge which protects your floor and helps prevent it from being scratched. The underside of the bar stool base can been seen opposite with its black, ribbed plasticised rubber, which runs the entire circumference of the steel base preventing it from touching your floor. An Additional feature of the ribbed effect is that it helps to minimise any sliding if used on a very slippery, shiny surface. The more traditional bar stools such as the Oberon, Mercury and Layla, which have legs all have rubber bungs in the end of the legs again to help prevent scratching and slippage.

Q. What is Faux Leather?
A. Faux Leather is a good quality artificial leather which has a leather effect embedded into it. Faux Leather is often used on bar stools because it is both hard wearing and realistic with the main advantage being that it can easily be wiped down within the kitchen environment unlike real leather.

Q. How stable are the stools?
A. All our stools at Atlantic Shopping have been specifically designed and manufactured to provide a stable perch for you. Due to the nature of the design the steel base and column provides adequate weight, making sure it is stable. Also if the stool is to be used at kitchen work surface height, the bar stool is not at it its full extension and hence does not have a high centre of gravity.

Q. If the Bar Stool is "In Stock" how quickly will I receive my stools ?
A. If you order your stools before 2.30pm we will endeavour to get your stools delivered to you for the next day.

Q. Do your prices include VAT and Delivery?
A. Yes all prices include VAT and if you spend over £50.00 it is free next day delivery

Q. Can I order just 1 bar stool?
A. 99% of all our bar stools we are available in singles, unless otherwise stated. At Atlantic Shopping we appreciate you may not have room for any more so we have a dedicated packing department which will do this for you at not extra cost.

Q. Do you have any bar stools that can be used at chair height as well as bar stool height.
A. Yes we do. We have 2 bar stools that fit this criteria. They are ideally suited for those customers who want there chairs to match the bar stools but also for those customers who wish to move the stools around the kitchen ie. from the kitchen table to the island or perhaps for those we a low worksurface The 2 stools we recommend are the KANSAS and the CAROLINA bar stools.

We are sure you have lots more questions and we would love to hear them. So please either email us, or telephone us on 0845 520 0000 or 0121 230 1644 and we will do our best to help you.
