Bar Stool Height

One of the most important points when choosing a bar stool is to have one that is the correct height. What is essential to take note of is that you should have enough space to accommodate your legs, with surplus space above to be extra comfortable. The idea is that sitting on a bar stool should be akin to sitting on a regular chair at a table.In a kitchen environment, you could have 3 different scenarios. The most common scenario is that you wish to sit at you kitchen work surface, which is the same height as your kitchen sink. 99% of all work surfaces have a height from the floor to the underside of the work surface of approx 90cm. When this is the case we suggest a seat height of approx 65-68cm - such as Deluxe Jupiter Bar Stool

Higher Bar Areas

Another scenario is that you have a purpose made bar in your kitchen. These bars tend to be higher than the normal work surface. So following the same rules as above you need about 22-25cm of gap below the under side of the bar. One fashion at present the kitchen designers are tending to use, is to have your normal work surface and then extending from the worksurface uprights with an addition glass surface above.
